The John Good Group has been recognised for growth in three major awards this year: The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, the Yorkshire Post Fastest 50 and the Yorkshire Insider Growth 100.

In January, the Group ranked in the “Yorkshire Post Fastest 50”, a recognition that they are helping to set the pace for growth in the region alongside businesses such as the Hull based Ashcourt Group and North Yorkshire’s Heck !

Unfortunately, the awards event, which has been running for ten years, was cancelled due to COVID-19, so it is yet to be announced where in the list the company has ranked.

In February, the Group ranked in the prestigious “Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200” for the second year in a row, coming in at number 100 this year. The award ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales, measured over their latest two years of available accounts and this year included companies such as Brewdog and Slush Puppie UK.

The planned awards ceremony for the International Track 200 was replaced by a virtual event in October. John Good Logistics Sales Director, Paul Ferguson attended the event, commenting, “It was great to hear so many positive stories and optimism for the future, and to witness such resilience, adaptability, determination & desire by the bucket load in the face of adversity. A huge thanks goes to all the team at John Good who continue to show such dedication through very challenging times, in helping us to make this prestigious list for the second time.”

In October, the Group also learned they had ranked number 55 in the “Yorkshire Insider Growth 100 Awards” – a compilation of the fastest growing companies with head offices in the Yorkshire region. The list is compiled using average percentage gain in turnover for the past five years. This year’s compilation saw the group listed alongside companies such as Hull based Giacom and Wykeland.

In recent years the John Good Group has achieved significant growth through a range of targeted business acquisitions, as well as organic growth, with turnover increasing from £41m in 2013 to £100m in 2019.

John Good Group CEO, Alan Platt, said “It’s fantastic to receive all three of these awards and a testament to the hard work of our employees. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, not least for organisations like ours, who specialise in logistics and travel, but our fantastic and dedicated people have helped us to continue to build a resilient and award winning business that I’m immensely proud to be a part of.”

With a history in logistics and travel dating back to 1833, the Group has had to navigate rough waters many times before. With this hat-trick of growth awards, there is a confidence that the Group is on course to overcome the recent uncertainty caused by the Coronavirus to deliver its ambitious, long-term growth strategy.
